2D ARTWORKS

2D Panels are $60 per panel (for Wai Art group members) for the three days of the Wai Art Show (maximum 4 panels per artist).

15% commission on sold works goes to the Wai Art group to support and promote art in the Wairarapa.

The plywood panel sizes for 2D artworks are 1.2m wide by 2.4m high.

3D ARTWORKS

There are only six 3D spaces at $100 per area within the foyer of the Events Centre and are by invitation only.

There are 10 3D spaces within Gallery 23 at $50 per area. All artwork sold here does not pay any commission.

Before You Start

Please note: To submit this request form you will need a minimum of 2 photos of your work (maximum of 3 photos sized between 1MB and 2MB), an artist’s bio and a paragraph describing your work – both with a maximum 250 word count. It cannot be submitted without these three things so get your items together before you start the form process. Even if you have exhibited before and we know you, this keeps our new processes for promoting your work on social media all in the same format.

Once you have submitted a form you will receive a confirmation email.

Is this the best number for Wai Art to contact you before, or at the time of, the show?
Will you be exhibiting 2D or 3D work?
2D works are paintings, prints, and framed works that do not extend more than 150mm from the panel wall. 3D works are pottery, jewellery, and woodwork – anything over the 150mm depth.
Have you paid your annual Wai Art Group membership fee?

The Wai Art Group membership fee is $20 payable on the day (if you haven’t already renewed your membership). The prices shown below are for members only. Non-members will pay an additional $20 per board or 3D space.

The total shown below is to give you a rough idea of the costs. The final amount you will be charged on the set-up day will depend on the number of panels you are allocated.

Social media promotion

Are you happy for your artist bios and photos you’ve uploaded to be used to promote the Wai Art Show on Facebook and Instagram? If you have a website, we can also include this in any posts of your work.

Please provide your bank account details for any payments of sold works (minus the 15% commission).

Volunteering

The show is the collective work of many artists and supporters. We need many helpers to set up the panels before and to dismantle after the show.

Volunteers on set-up day are offered first selection of panels/spaces of their choice as a way of thanking them for their help. If you are unable to help with set-up or dismantling, maybe you can help at the show for 2 hours. We have a volunteering sign-up sheet at the front desk on set-up days. If you volunteer for set-up or dismantling, you will be emailed separately.
